Core Responsibilities
- Fabricate prosthetic and orthotic components using molding machines, grinding tools, and material cutting equipment.
- Assemble device parts following technical drawings, fabrication sheets, and size specification documents.
- Perform surface finishing using polishing wheels, sanding tools, and trimming instruments.
- Carry out repair tasks on used devices using hand tools, replacement components, and inspection checklists.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness through equipment cleaning logs, tool storage systems, and material handling practices.
- Label and store completed devices using tagging records, inventory sheets, and delivery notes.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Fabrication machinery including vacuum forming units and grinding machines.
- Hand tools such as cutters, files, drills, and alignment fixtures.
- Material handling of thermoplastics, resins, metal joints, and composite components.
- Technical drawings, fabrication instructions, and assembly checklists.
- Workshop maintenance logs and device tracking registers.
Experience Context
- Work is performed inside a prosthetic and orthotic fabrication workshop supporting clinical supply needs.
- Daily output includes multiple device components prepared for fitting and clinical delivery schedules.
- Absence of this role disrupts device availability, fitting timelines, and rehabilitation service continuity.
