Core Responsibilities
- Prepare foundation layouts using approved civil drawings and measurement books at substation yards.
- Carry out concrete quantity checks using batching records, cube test reports, and reinforcement schedules.
- Inspect formwork and shuttering materials with reference to structural drawings and bar bending schedules.
- Monitor earthwork levels through dumpy level readings and maintain site survey registers.
- Record daily construction progress in site logs supported by photographs and checklists.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Structural drawings and general arrangement drawings.
- Concrete cube testing methods and slump test procedures.
- Bar bending schedules and reinforcement detailing sheets.
- AutoCAD civil drawings.
- Measurement books and quantity abstracts.
Experience Context
- Work is performed at outdoor substation construction sites with heavy civil foundations.
- Projects involve high voltage yards with multiple equipment plinths and control buildings.
- Without this role, foundation levels and structural alignment can fail regulatory checks.
