Core Responsibilities
- Inspect raw water pipelines on site using measuring tape, spirit level, and approved alignment drawings.
- Verify pipe jointing work through visual checks, torque wrench readings, and manufacturer installation manuals.
- Record trench depth and bedding condition in site registers and daily progress formats.
- Monitor valve chamber construction using concrete mix records, shuttering material, and curing logs.
- Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing with calibrated gauges and testing certificates.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Water supply layout drawings and approved construction drawings.
- Pressure testing equipment and calibration certificates.
- Concrete cube testing reports and slump cone apparatus.
- Pipe material specifications and jointing manuals.
- Site measurement books and quality checklists.
Experience Context
- Work takes place at active water supply project sites handling buried pipelines and chamber structures.
- Projects involve multiple kilometer pipeline stretches with daily measurable quantities.
- Absence of this role results in leakage, pressure failure, and rework of completed sections.
