Core Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project cost sheets using approved BOQs, rate analysis statements, and tender drawings.
- Maintain cost tracking registers comparing planned budgets with certified bills and site measurement books.
- Review contractor RA bills against contract clauses, quantity take-offs, and approved rates.
- Compile variance reports using cost plans, consumption logs, and monthly cost statements.
- Examine change orders, variation statements, and revised estimates before financial approval.
- Generate periodic cost reports supported by invoices, abstracts, and reconciliation documents.
Skills & Technical Exposure
- Bill of Quantities preparation and quantity take-off documentation.
- MS Excel cost models, spreadsheets, and tracking formats.
- Contract agreements, tender documents, and variation statements.
- Rate analysis formats for civil and finishing works.
- Measurement books and certified billing records.
Experience Context
- Work is performed in corporate project offices linked to active construction sites.
- Cost data typically covers multi-crore building projects with multiple trade packages.
- Absence of this role leads to uncontrolled overruns, billing disputes, and cash flow gaps.
