Core Responsibilities
- Review Tekla structural steel models against approved GA drawings using model comparison tools.
- Check member sizes, connection geometry, and bolt placements directly within Tekla and SDS2 files.
- Verify shop drawings by cross-referencing mark numbers, material grades, and section callouts.
- Annotate revision comments on drawing PDFs and controlled markup sheets for detailing teams.
- Validate erection drawings by matching assembly views with approved design references.
- Log model and drawing discrepancies into internal QA checklists and revision trackers.
Skills & Technical Exposure
- Tekla Structures modeling and checking environment
- SDS2 detailing and verification tools
- Structural steel GA drawings and shop drawings
- AISC and project-specific steel detailing standards
- PDF markup software and QA check formats
Experience Context
- Work is performed in a detailing office supporting overseas structural steel projects.
- Exposure includes multi-storey steel frames, industrial units, and large connection volumes.
- Without this role, drawing errors pass downstream, causing fabrication rework and site mismatches.
