- Prepare engineering calculation sheets using spreadsheets and validated templates for equipment load and capacity determination.
- Create block flow diagrams and detailed flow drawings on drafting software for manufacturing sequences.
- Check pump sizing sheets and pressure loss calculations using standard reference manuals.
- Compile piping and instrumentation drawings with tag lists, line lists, and valve schedules.
- Review layout drawings against statutory guidelines using approved regulatory documents.
- Document interlock narratives and cause effect charts using approved control philosophy files.
Skills and Technical Exposure
- Aspen Plus simulation software for material balance modeling.
- Aspen EDD tools for equipment data preparation.
- Dynochem modeling platforms for reaction analysis.
- Pressure safety valve sizing calculation sheets.
- Batch sequence documentation and interlock diagrams.
- HVAC room data sheets and area classification files.
Experience Context
- Work is performed within active chemical manufacturing plants handling multiple unit operations.
- Engineering coverage spans reactors, pumps, utilities, and safety systems across several blocks.
- Absence of this role results in incomplete design packages, delayed approvals, and unsafe equipment selection.
